This week’s challenge: Minimalist.
Adding a bit of fun and difficulty maybe… Today’s subject in Photography 101 class: Solitude. My first take in the class.
The 9/11 Memorial in New York City, USA, where flowers are put up on people’s birthday. It’s all about that feeling that fills you up when you’re standing there.
What do you think? Does this image fits both themes?
Inspired by the Dailypost page and Photography 101.
Wonderful response Juls, love this post. and YES it definitely fits both themes.
Tina, your comment is so sweet! Thank you! you know you always make my day!
Wow, 3 languages!
Ahmmm. Great choice for both themes.
And speechless when you’re standing there, I think.
yep! 😉 it’s more fun if I can share the fun with all my friends who speak one or the other of those languages, and it makes me practice.
And thank you for your compliment of the picture. It is a place where one can only wander in silence and meditate about life and death, for sure.
Soulful in its minimalism. Love it !!!!
😀
Beautiful and touching and perfect for both themes, well done! Andy
thanks Andy! 😉
It definitely works, Julie.

Happy me!
Lovely! Great shot, and very appropriate to the subject – it’s a still, quiet, reverent photo.
thank you very much for your comment. I’m glad you enjoyed passing by…
I think you’ve conveyed both beautifully.
Thank you, Jeff! that’s a very cool compliment coming from you. Have a lovely week-end!
I think it is a sad subject for your photo, but beautifully done, Julie 🙂
It is always a sad subject, but it doesn’t mean it can’t be treated…. I just hope I could convey the solitude and the respect I always feel when I’m there.
There’s nothing more solitary than death, even when thousands of souls die in the same place, each one dies his own death. No one can really do that with you.
And the feeling you get in front of a memorial is your own too. Respect, loneliness, sadness but hope for life.
