This week challenge : Kiss
On Merida‘s Main Square mainly and in most incongruous spots around town, you can find those lovers’ chairs; they’re called confidentes, a french term for «confidant» and were established for the lovers to have – obviously – secret conversations while both pairs of parents were arranging the wedding details. I love the way the chairs lock one into another and invite people to share their embrace and kiss.
[Es] En la Plaza Central de Mérida sobre todo pero también en otros lugares más curiosos, se encuentran esas sillas para enamorados; se llaman confidentes, una palabra francesa que significa «los que se confian» y fueron puestas para que los enamorados tengan – obviamente – conversaciones secretas mientras sus padres respectivos arreglaban los detalles de la boda. Me encanta la manera en la que las sillas se enloquecen juntas e invitan a los enamorados a abrasarse y a besar.
[Fr] Sur la Place Centrale de Mérida mais également à des endroits beaucoup plus surprenants dans la ville, vous pourrez trouver ces bancs pour amoureux; on les appelle confidentes, un terme tout droit venu de notre belle langue et furent érigées pour que les amoureux puissent entretenir des conversations secrètes – évidemment – pendant que leurs parents respectifs s’arrangeaient sur les détails du mariage. J’adore la manière dont les deux sièges s’enlacent et invitent les amoureux à s’y blottir et à s’y étreindre.
