Hace 17 días que estamos viviendo en isla Holbox, nuestra favorita en México hasta ahora, y por fin, tenemos nuestro bar funcionando. La estamos pasando de maravilla, ofreciendo nuestros jugos detox por la mañana y los coctéles originales e inventivos de Raúl por las noches. La gente está sorprendida y feliz de encontrarnos ahí, de presenciar nuestros humildes primeros momentos. Amigos demuestran un apoyo increíble; por cierto, ¡esperamos que más de ellos/Uds. vendrán a visitarnos en los meses que vienen!
La fiesta de inauguración fue un éxito, de música – nuestro amigo DJ Durhem tocó Selective Groove por parte de la noche -, de tragos, de amistad y de alegría.
Desde luego, los niños de nuestros amigos isleños nos han adoptados, tanto para jugar en el agua durante horas que para los abrazos, la cocina y ser parte de la familia.
Cada día, las vistas son un verdadero regalo para los ojos e invitan al relajo máximo. Prueba, arriba. 😉 Son un buen motivo para despertarse más temprano en la mañana.
Entonces, ¿cuándo piensan venir a visitarnos?
[Fr] Cela fait maintenant 17 jours que nous vivons sur l’île de Holbox, notre préférée au Mexique pour l’instant, et que notre bar est ouvert tous les jours. On adore pouvoir proposer nos jus détox tous les matins et les cocktails inventifs et originaux de Raúl tous les soirs. Les gens sont surpris et heureux de nous voir là et d’assister à nos humbles débuts. Nos amis nous montrent un soutien fabuleux; on espère de tout cœur les/vous voir un peu plus par ici dans les mois à venir!
La fête d’inauguration a été très réussie, une soirée de musique – notre ami DJ Durhem a joué du Selective Groove une partie de la nuit -, de cocktails, d’amitié et de joie.
Les enfants de nos amis insulaires nous ont définitivement adoptés, tant pour les heures à jouer dans l’eau, que pour les câlins, la cuisine et faire partie de la famille.
Chaque jour, les paysages sont de toute beauté, aussi loin que l’œil peut porter – preuve au-dessus -, et une bonne raison de se lever plus tôt le matin. 😉

[En] For the past 17 days, we have now been living on Holbox island, our favorite in Mexico so far, and have finally had our bar up and working. We’re having a great time presenting our detox juices in the morning and Raul’s inventive and original cocktails at night. People are happily surprised to find us there and witness our humble beginnings. Friends show fabulous support; we sure hope to see more of them/you around in the months to come!

Our islander friends’ kids have already adopted us, be it for hours of play in the sea, hugs, cooking or being part of the family.
The views are a treat to the eye, as far as it can see and sure are a good reason to get up early (ier) in the morning. Proof above. 😉

Wow… 🙂 I’m so happy for you! You know, my dream was always to start a beach bar!! I just never found someone who wanted to do it with me! Hubby likes living in Finland, so here we are…:O

It sounds intoxicating. We visited Cancan back in the early 70’s when it was just developing. It was paradise. It slowly commercialized and became a tourist mecca. We stopped going when that happened. Perhaps, I’ll think about this place in the future. Thank you for posting.

For us, Cancun is just a hub for in or out-bound flights. It is not Mexico anymore. Holbox, and Mahahual (closer to the Belice border), still are little pieces of paradise. Holbox being an island, 2/3 of it protected through natural reserve, I would hope for it not to reach the extent of Cancun. I can only highly recommend a visit now rather than later, though. Just in case…
I had so wanted to see Holbox when we were in Cancun area a few years ago, but never made it there. You’ve got me thinking!
