Villafranca del Bierzo – La Faba
23 kms (total: 648 kms).
5 hours and 20 minutes (+ 50 minutes of breakfast and photo breaks).
12 – 28°C., sunny all day.
Favorites: walking on my own since Tatiana and Marlón walk much faster than me; the end of today’s walk, in the forest; finding a lovely hostel that feels like a tree house and where diner is vegetarian; meeting friends at their hostel, finish my book in the shade of a chestnut tree and enjoy a long moment of stretching before going for a drink; enjoy the atmosphere of a tiny village up in the mountains.
Downs: most of today’s walk was by the road, which I’m really not fond of.
Stayed at the Albergue Municipal (6€/night), at the entrance of town, in Villafranca.
Met up with Tatiana & Marlón in La Faba for snacks before diner since we’re not staying at the same hostel.
Tomorrow is another day on El Camino! 🙂
most of today’s walk was by the road, which I’m really not fond of. – Once again, Chris Townsend multiple times pointed out how much he hated it too and that he felt not safe at all… in the book… by the way, I don’t know if you have ever done it or are the type, but Chris Townsend, who had done all the major thru hikes and whose most recent thru hike was the PNT, is the type who READ books while walking the trail. LOL I don’t know if I can do that… your photo reminded me of that… LOL
oh no, I don’t read while walking. I’d trip, obviously! and feel like I’d be missing on the views, really.
Couldn’t agree more. I usually scan the surroundings to take a next photo… LOL
I’ve caught up. Even time to read – now that is relaxing – and only 8 days left. The only reason I like walking on the road is there is less chance of rolling an ankle 😉
I’d rather roll an ankle than stay too long on the road. Today was much much better! 😊😊😊
Cela semble être effectivement une paisible halte , pleine de ressources 😀✨
Oui… on aimerait y rester plus longtemps…
