This week’s challenge: Monument.
View of Machu Picchu from the top of Huayna Picchu, Peru. Celebrating the 4th anniversary of being there, on April 11, 2010. More about that time in Peru, clicking right here.

So jealous!
😉 Just GO!
One day!
you’ll love it! 😀
Wow, gorgeous!
Truly a monument for the ages; leaves us wondering what life looked like when the ancient people lived there.
I sat there in wonder that day, wondering and imagining… It truly is a place of marvels…
Nice take on the Monument theme! I’m impressed if you climbed way up there to take that photograph. I’ve seen what way up there looks like from Machu Picchu (at least in photographs). Would be an interesting place to visit but I wouldn’t want to live there.
You’re welcome to come and see what my take on the theme is:

Thank you Cris! it is a 1-hour steep hike up but very worth it, as you can see. It should definitely be on your list of places to visit one day as it is very impressive.
Thanks also to have put your own interpretation in sight.
Happy discoveries!
Thanks. I admire your fortitude for getting that photograph. I’m afraid my fortitude for that kind of hike has long ago up and disappeared. Have a great day. 🙂
I love the arial take on this week’s theme!
Nice view, it’s approaching my first anniversary. 🙂 I didn’t get a ticket for Huayna Picchu, but did climb Machu Picchu mountaing opposite here.
oh nice! the view from the other side must be quite beautiful too! I’m looking forward to see it (again!)
Amazing! I’d love to see it some day.
