This week challenge : Pattern.
Upon visiting southern Vietnam in September 2010, Ethel and I went to Cao Dai Temple and assisted to a ceremony in the great temple. Women sat on one side of the huge room while men were on the other; all wore the same kind of outfits and chanted in unisson. Tourists are only allowed to watch from the rails running around the first floor, which gave us quite a view on the pattern designed both on the floors and by the position of the people.
Oh, that picture could have worked for last week’s challenge too! 😉

A happy accident, finding yourself up in the balcony —
Result: a sensational photograph.
not really as an accident as we, tourists, were not supposed to be anywhere inside the room except up on the balcony. truly happy of the way things happened then, and happy to know you enjoyed the pic’!
Cool take, Julie 🙂
thanks! the eye is a powerful weapon! 😉
Three different patterns in harmony – very satisfying. I like the header of bottles too, BTW – light and colour and detail.
Thanks Annie!
I LOVE this photo. What a great example of pattern. Sounds like a really great experience and beautiful place. Sorry to hear about the on-going camera fiasco / nightmare. That is so hard to swallow. The worst feeling is that you know that there is absolutely no recourse for you. Alas, you do know that 3 is charm supposedly 🙂 Bonne chance.
Hell, I just bought the camera for the 3rd time! it even was cheaper this time! 😉 it will directly end up in Raul’s hands when we get to France! meanwhile, I keep digging in the archives for the WPC and am happy that I can find « gems » to show around! 😀
Lovely pattern Juls! Especially like that you took it with the people in it — made it that much more special.
thanks Tina! I tried to have as many details as I could…
You always share such great shots. Since this type of subject isn’t really an interest fo mine I think I appreciate and enjoy them even more.
and it’s always such a treat to read your compliments since I’m such a fan of yours! I’m glad I can always find something that interests you. 😀
Yes you can. I can only dream of traveling to the places you have, so I get to see quite a few wonderful paces, wonderfully photographed, while visiting your little corner of WordPress 🙂
I am happy to be your magic carpet! 😉
Perfect.
you’re so sweet! thanks!
Beautiful pattern!
😀
Thanks it’s fun and different I think!
Those are really beautiful patterns and the white makes them stand out even more.
Thanks Ese! I was so surprised and happy to find that shot in the archives when I read about the challenge. there couldn’t have been a better choice there. 😀
