This week challenge : Near and Far
Living in Mexico allows me to satisfy my curiosity about Mayan ruins. And play with perspective as much as I can. These 2 pictures were taken recently at Mayapan site, a few kilometers out of Merida, Yucatan Peninsula.
Next is an oldie as well, which I wanted to share because I truly like it : it dates back to February 2011, at Irazú Volcano, Costa Rica, when I tried different points of view and change my usual perspective. A prequel to Near and Far Weekly Photo Challenge, maybe…

Bonjour! I have to say I love the first pic!!! It is great…And have lovely colours!!!
thanks again!
Your shots are stellar! 🙂 Do check out my contribution. 🙂
Thank you for your wonderful and inspiring comment! Your pictures were awesome too, very diverse and expressing much different options of the theme. I particularly liked the one from Pointe du Hoc in France and the beach there because of all it also conveys when you know what happened there; the « far » means a lot…
and the chinese proverb!
Thanks again for stopping by!
Hi Jul’
These are breathtaking photos. I love the colors and my favorite is the first one. Great captures!
Thank you! Yes, I think the first one is also my favourite but I had a hard time choosing…
Awesome perspective on the first photo! Makes the trees look like tiny models.
Thank you! I loved the colors of the trees that day but didn’t want to focus on them… hence… Thanks for stopping by!
I like the abstract quality of the first photo and the perspective of the second one. Would love to visit the Mayan ruins one day.
Thank you so much for your comment!
I’m still having trouble having the whole picture clear sometimes but other times, it just comes out that way and gives it an unexpected quality.
That’s what photo challenges are for!
Amazing colors! It’s just so vibrant!
Thank you so much! It’s so interesting when Nature plays with your camera!
Yours are great too! 😉 Thanks for stopping by!

I’m new to it, only my 3rd entry today but I’m quite excited because every time, a picture just came straight into my mind after I read the challenge! Hope it’ll continue like that!
Keep clicking too!
I know that exact feeling – having a photo in mind for the topic.
Ditto on the colours comment. Spectacular.
Thanks! I like the lines in yours… quite peaceful…
Brilliant colours, both near *and* far! Thanks for the pingback.
Thanks Jeni! Well, I truly liked your picture as well, so I just thought it would be nice to share around, right!
Cheers!
