Con cada uno de los niños nacidos en mi familia, me he sentido llena de amor y de admiración. Me encanta cada momento pasado con ellos, aunque vivamos lejos uno del otro.
Ahora, son 14; hijos de primos o ahijados. Corto, Ai-Ling, Clément, Li-Ni, Tiphaine, Rose, Sacha, Kien, Noé, Timothé, Eliot, Lily, Lia … y Augustin.
Lo todo nuevo hoy es nuestro sobrino. Nació el 20 de enero de mi hermano y cuñada. Raúl y yo fuimos introducidos oficialmente con Augustin este mes, cuando él solo tenía 3 semanas.

¿Cómo se sientieron la primera vez que encontraron a su primero/a sobrino/a?

With each and every child that has been born in our family, I’ve found myself in complete awe and love. I cherish every moment possible with them, in spite of our living far from each other.
They are 14 now; my cousins’ children or my god-children. Corto, Ai-Ling, Clément, Li-Ni, Tiphaine, Rose, Sacha, Kien, Noé, Timothé, Eliot, Lily, Lia … and Augustin.
The novelty today is all about our nephew. He was born on January 20 of my brother and sister-in-law. Raul and I got officially introduced to Augustin earlier this month, when he was just 3 weeks-old.

How did you feel the first time you met your first nephew/niece?

Lors de chaque nouvelle naissance dans la famille, je me suis sentie remplie d’amour et d’admiration. J’essaie de passer les plus beaux moments avec ces enfants, même si nous habitons loin les uns des autres.
Aujourd’hui, ils sont 14; ce sont les enfants de mes cousins ou mes filleuls. Corto, Ai-Ling, Clément, Li-Ni, Tiphaine, Rose, Sacha, Kien, Noé, Timothé, Eliot, Lily, Lia … et Augustin.
Ce qu’il y a de nouveau cette fois-ci, c’est qu’il s’agit de notre neveu. Il est né le 20 janvier, de mon frère et ma belle-sœur. Raul et moi avons été officiellement présentés à Augustin plus tôt ce mois-ci, alors qu’il n’avait que 3 semaines.

Qu’avez-vous ressenti à l’arrivée de votre premier/ère neveu/nièce?

J’adore la troisième photo en commençant par la fin, il est tellement expressif! Tu as la chance d’appartenir à une famille nombreuse.
😆 j’adore le prendre en photo… je n’ai qu’un frère mais beaucoup de cousins et j’adore leurs enfants! C’est effectivement un régal de pouvoir passer du temps avec eux.
Tu n’as pas de frères et soeurs?
Oui, j’ai un frère cadet mais on est tous les deux sans enfants. Peut être que lui, il finira par se décider et je serai tante!

I’m not sure where I sit on this. I had no siblings – therefore no nieces & nephews. My wife had a sibling, but he has no children – ergo, ditto. We have two daughters, with two grandchildren now in UK and one in Aus, so the niece and nephews don’t see their respective aunts very often. A trifle sad, methinks!
Seen from that perspective, I’m with you. We are a numerous family so it’s pretty much the opposite as I can see a lot of even my cousins’ kids..
Except maybe in Patagonia 😄

Beautiful shots! When my first baby was born, I spent sooooo much money on film! My last baby just turned 25 and all she wanted from me was copies of photos I’d taken of her & her dad. These moments are so important!
They are! And it’s so great to be able to find old shots in these life albums!
