This week’s challenge: Juxtaposition.
I’ve kept that picture in store forever, not finding the right moment to take it out. How odd that Michelle uses a picture of hers taken at the very same place in Cambodia, Tuol Sleng Prison. I guess it’s not so innocent that beauty shows up in places of great sorrow and horror.

Oh Juls, this is one of my favorites of your photos. So much to say with no words needed. Beautifully captured

Bisous
Perfect! It has such a stark feel, with the flower being the one bright spot in an otherwise somber scene.
« perfect »?!!! thank you so much!
Really great interpretation !
thank you so much!
Well, it was worth the wait!
That flower seems so delicately placed, with such a prayerful attitude – as if to atone for the harshness of the environment.
it completely does; when you know that visitors can’t get through the bars and wouldn’t have been able to do it, you wonder even more… and it gives the whole scene such a peaceful air in spite of everything
What a beautiful photo! I love the small beauty of the flower against the stark emptiness of everything else.
janet
yes, it was very powerful and delicate at the same time
Bravo !
Merci!!!!
great picture.
thanks! 😉
Powerful capture…with that hinge of sadness but also beauty very present.
thanks! beauty emanated from the whole scene in spite of the sadness in the atmosphere; it relieved a bit our shaken hearts
Ce’st jolie…
