On a weekend when air pollution was so high that ground transportation ended up free for 3 days; there was less traffic in town, the streets of Paris had the eerie look of an abandonned city.
Have you seen it this way before?

Et nous y étions! 😀
It’s a haunting shot, but a beautiful one. Glad the city is trying to help with the transportation pass!
When we were in San Francisco, the waitress explained to us at a restaurant that it was illegal for them to automatically serve water to people, because of the drought. We had to ask for water. Isn’t that the craziest thing?
I like the idea. It makes people think about their actual need of water instead of just helping themselves and not finishing their glass in the end.
How contrary-Paris is one of the noisiest places I’ve been! You’ve captured the essence of a dream. Great shot!
Funny how a city can change depending on what goes on… Paris is very noisy, but not so much as others I know, like New York or Mexico city…
Wow, how eerie!
Yes, it truly felt weird that day… 😉
Wow. Does that happen often? I didn’t know pollution was that bad in Paris.
Not that I know of… It was the first time I lived it and it hasn’t happened again since. I don’t think the level of « high pollution » is that high in Paris. It usually happens when there’s no wind for a few days, low clouds and lots of traffic.
Happens in a lot of cities, especially ones that get humidity trapping particles in the air.
I bet!
Very eerie look. Did you need masks?
no, no masks involved. it was not that bad, but we had the city to ourselves! 😉
Wonderful b & w picture.
Thank you! 😀
Great photo, Julie!
