Although I’m having a great time in Paris, I still feel much better spending a sunny week-end in Marseilles than under the rain in the capital… Go figure! So I did just that twice this month! Two days ago, the sun was out all right – and everyone too, for that matter: on the terraces of the cafés or at the beach – but fierce gusts of Mistral (the cold south-bound wind in south-east France that takes all the clouds away) prevented us from truly feeling the heat of the star.
Some were out in the sea and enjoyed it to the fullest. I’m always in awe and greatly inspired by those who do kite-surfing, taking advantage of both water and sky.
Some day, I’ll learn kite-surfing too.
Do you do kite-surfing?
[Es] Aunque me encanta estar en París, prefiero pasar el fin de semana debajo del sol en Marsella que debajo la lluvia en la capital… Qué raro, ¿no? Entonces, ¡lo hice 2 veces este mes! Hace 2 días, había mucho sol, así que salieron todos – en las terrazas de los bares o a la playa; pero también soplaba el Mistral en ráfagas bien fuertes (es el viento en el Sur-Este de Francia, viene del norte hacia el sur y es muy frío pero hace que desaparezcan las nubes). Así que no se sentía tanto el calor…
Algunos estaban en el mar, disfrutándolo todo. Siempre me fascinan y me inspiran los que hacen kite-surfing, ahí aprovechando de ambos, mar y cielo.
Uno de esos días, también yo aprenderé a hacer kite-surfing.

[Fr] Même si j’adore être à Paris, je préfère encore passer un week-end au soleil à Marseille que sous la pluie dans la capitale… C’est bizarre, hein?! Je l’ai donc fait par 2 fois ce mois-ci! Il y a deux jours, le soleil était de sortie – et tout le monde l’a suivi, aux terrasses des cafés comme à la plage – malgré de fortes rafales de Mistral (c’est le vent du nord qui souffle dans le sud-est de la France et qui balaie les nuages). On n’avait pas si chaud que ça finalement.
Certains profitaient carrément des vagues. Je suis toujours fascinée et inspirée par ces kite-surfeurs, petits bonshommes au milieu de l’eau et du ciel.
Un jour, moi aussi, j’apprendrai à faire du kite-surf!

Went para-sailing once in Cancun in January…it was cold and wet and very windy up there, but what a rush! I was strapped together with my husband behind me, otherwise I’m sure I would have chosen not to do it at all.
When we went to Playa del Carmen 2 years ago, I saw people para-sailing but didn’t take the chance to go. I always find those sports up in the air thrilling. I hope you and your husband loved it!
It’s a great memory to have, a real thrill!
