Aah, Puerto Natales! I remember this landscape so well. I think I prefer the horizontal picture, just because of the mountains.

That second one really exemplifies why I love landscapes done vertically. Same great location, but the vertical shot has so much more depth, with the old pier, or what’s left of it, giving you a great place to start, then leading your eye to the distant mountains.
AND there were some clouds to help give perspective in the sky as well. it’s true that I’ll take a picture in the « portrait » mode more easily when the sky is not all blue but gives something to the eye too.
The mountains are just beautiful!
this piece of Earth at the end of everything is just the most beautiful thing to photograph and stay in front of. I just had to click.

I like the portrait shot the best as the pilings lead your eye out to the water and the mountains in the distance. Susan Childs Hancock
