This week challenge : Surprise
To celebrate my 100th post, a sizeable surprise! 😉
Walking the neverending steppes of Mongolia, near Kharkorin, in November 2010, we came up to this sculpture of a phallus… The legend says it’s supposed to keep the lust spirit of male travellers away from the women of the region… All right, but what an unexpected surprise anyway!
[Fr] En se promenant dans les steppes infinies de Mongolie, près de Kharkhorin en Novembre 2010, nous sommes tombées nez à nez avec ce phallus sculpté dans la pierre… La légende rapporte qu’il est censé éloigner des femmes de la région les esprits lubriques des voyageurs… D’accord, mais quelle surprise tout de même!
[Es] Caminando las estepas grandes de Mongolia, cerca de Kharkhorin en Noviembre 2010, nos enfrentamos a esta escultura de un falo de piedra… La leyenda dice que sirve para alejar de las mujeres de la región el espíritu lúbrico de los viajeros… ¿Porque no? Pero, ¡qué sorpresa todavía!

After my initial « what a great photograph, » had great light, composition, etc., the first thing that popped into my head was « man that sure looks like a penis. » Then I actually read your post 😀 What a heck of a find! Something to tell the grandchildren about 😛
